Mushroom season, looking not picking
The woods are full of mushrooms after the rain last week. I don't pick them. I know just enough to know I don't know enough, and the guide book makes it very clear how small the differences can be.
So instead I take pictures and try to name them at home. Today: something with a red-brown cap and white flecks that I am fairly sure is a kind of cap I should stay far away from, a cluster of tiny grey ones on a stump, and a big pale one with a skirt that I could not identify at all.
If anyone local runs a guided walk, I'd go.
